The Best Pillow for A Good Nights Sleep

Choosing the right pillow may be very vital in accomplishing restful sleep. A proper pillow will help the top and neck with out applying immoderate strain, as it conforms to the precise shape of the bed, as a result spreading the weight frivolously and uniformly alongside the vertebrae. Pillows are a constant supply of frustration for many. In addition to aggravating the neck, plenty of pillows also can have an effect on the shoulder. The shoulder ought to not be positioned at 90 tiers to the bed, due to the fact it can cause spasms inside the trapezius muscle mass.Trapezius muscle mass perform a variety of actions, including acting as a platform to elevate the cranium, which is very important to relax in the course of sleep completely. If the shoulder is located barely ahead at the mattress in the front of the mattress, assuming that the mattress can keep this role, the threat of placing stress on the trapezius and forcing the scapula (shoulder blade) to the column is decrease...

How To Curve Text in Phonto - for Cricut Design Space

Image
I don't have the patience to create a circle in design space and then add one letter at a time to curve text.  I like to use curved text WAY too often for that, especially on all of these Christmas ornaments. So I use phonto. http://www.phon.to/ Phonto works on Android and Apple.  I use an android, so my screen shots are from Android. Open that app.  Tap in the middle of the screen. Choose Use Plain image choose the first white box you see.  All you need is a plain background. Click on the pencil at the top of the app.   Type the first half of your text.   (Helpful comment from an iphone user -    Just an FYI on the iPhone, no pencil image comes up. You swipe left once you type the text to find the ‘curve’ option.) Now choose style, then click on the little arrow to the right of "Text Color"    a menu will drop down, choose curve. Once you get the curve for the top half of your circle, click on the pencil again, and add the bottom p...

Using the Samantha Font In Cricut Design Space

Image
Cliff Notes -  Download from Mighty Deals, Yes you have to pay for it  use Maintypes Character map  find the swirly option you want to use in the character map, choose copy, go to text box in Design space, Make sure it is set to the Samantha font,  choose paste. Free fonts that are similar to Samantha -  http://fieldsofhether.blogspot.com/2018/08/free-alternatives-to-samantha-font.html It's not as hard as you'd think. But it's also not as simple as just changing the font to "Samantha". First, this font is $75.  Seventy Five Dollars.  For a font. But it does go on sale.  Never under $10.  But it was recently $17 , with a coupon code that dropped it to $14.95...  so I ended up buying it.  I never pay for fonts.  But this one is the most used font for basically everything special.  And I was afraid if I didn't buy it while it was $14.95, I'd REALLY regret it when I wanted to use it next month and it was back to $75.  (Up...

How To Make A Bitmoji Christmas Ornament With Cricut -

Image
I love these!  I do wish I had used white glitter though.  I think the white background is a better look.  I didn't have white glitter, and I was too impatient to wait... First, go to the bitmoji app -  https://www.bitmoji.com/ Bitmoji is available for Android, Iphone, & windows chrome.  My screen shots are from Android. Create your bitmoji, if you do not already have one.  There are TWO style options: Click on the three dots on the right - that's where you will find settings, Then choose Change Avatar Style. This is the difference:   Bitmoji's all look a bit alike - and extra cartoonish. Bitstrips are a bit more distinctive, and usually the choice you want for this project. The images on this screen have necks and collars - so it is easiest to go back out to where you customize your image, and screenshot that screen: crop that down -  Send this image from your phone to your computer.  (Most email it to themselves, I like facebook messen...

Making Printable Acetate Christmas Ornaments - Cricut

Image
Floating Christmas Ornaments I love these so much!  They are photos printed on acetate that "float" in the center of the ornaments. Cliff Notes Version : Transparency film.  I use  Grafix Ink Jet Film, 8-1/2-Inch by 11-Inch, 6-Pack, Clear Cut on custom, choose Foil Acetate New in 2018 - Download  Free SVG's for the floating shape G litter and snow will stick to the acetate - foam beads (found at the dollar tree) work best. I use a mini bowdabra. It's currently one of my most favorite things.  Darice Designer Bowdabra Bow Maker, Mini (That's my first successful use of the Samantha font ) ================================================================= The Supplies -  It's important that you buy the right transparentcy paper for your printer. I like  Grafix Ink Jet Film, 8-1/2-Inch by 11-Inch, 6-Pack, Clear .  I get mine on Amazon, because it is so much cheaper there, but you can also buy it by the sheet at Hobby Lobby (not Michaels, nor Ac Mo...

Who, What, Where, When & How - 9/29/17

Who I am listening to; What I am reading, Using, Making ; Where I am traveling; and When New books are releasing or events are happening, How to's I discovered or used,  this week. Who I've been listening to John Grisham this week.  He did a 13 week book tour in podcasts.  It is fabulous.  Each week he is in a different bookstore, with different authors from the area of the bookstore, and they talk about the writing process, books, and all sorts of things.  Stop 13, with Lisa Scottoline, was one of my favorites - she's very funny, I definitely want to look for her weekly column. What My favorites were Seven Years in Tibet by Heinrich Harrer, All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda, and The Madwoman Upstairs by Catherine Lowell.  (A lot of Bronte readers were disappointed by the book - but I am not familiar enough with the facts about Brontes to pick up on any discrepancies that would irritate me, and I thoroughly enjoyed this as a light read)   Lit...

Cricut - Old Truck Mailbox Decal

Image
Next up in my mission to "Cricut All The Things" was our mailbox. I started out with a couple of free truck svgs, but they needed cleaned up so much, to cut the way I wanted,  that I just went to etsy and spent $1.49 for this one.  It was worth the time it saved me to have a good image to work with.   When I uploaded this to design space, I uploaded the PNG file (instead of the html file).  Then I simply clicked on the pumpkins, and on the words, and on the pumpkin stems, to erase all of them.   Once it was all erased, I added it to my "new project" in design space, and it wanted to make it a print and cut. If I changed it to cut, it changed the tire centers to the same color.  So I chose shape, circle, and sliced the center color out of the tires. Quick and easy! That gave me the tires inserts in silver, as I wanted them. Next I added our last name, and our street number - in the elephant font. https://fontzone.net/font-details/elephant Cut our ...

Fonts With Tails (Glyphs) Cheat Sheet

Image
Glyphs are extra characters in fonts.  For fonts like Samantha (a paid font - there is no free version) you have to use a character map to access the extra swirls. There are a few fonts, such as I Love Glitter, where you can quickly add swirls (nothing as ornate as Samantha, but still pretty!) just by adding a few characters such as * \ [ ] or ().  I call them "easy glyphs". Download all four of these cheat sheets as a pdf file, here.  If that link does not work (too much traffic) Try This One. Links to download each font are found under the photos. MF I Love Glitter        Smell The Roses            Shorelines        Stea        klcupid          Daddy's Girl             Beauty & The Beast          Ribbons & Banners            LillyBelle      ...
